Changes and Cancellations

Changes and Cancellations

What should I know before booking my trip?

Before you confirm your booking (by paying the deposit), make sure you are fully happy with the itinerary we’ve created for you.
  1. This is the moment to decide on:
  2. Your Camino route
  3. Departure date
  4. Number of travelers and rooms
  5. Service level (Budget / Comfort / Deluxe)
  6. Extra nights or services
Your Camino Planner will walk you through all the options and adjust the proposal as needed. At this stage, no reservations are being held, although Follow the Camino may tentatively hold some rooms while you decide.

What happens after I make a booking?

Once we receive the 30% deposit (from any or all travelers in the booking), your trip is officially confirmed. We will begin arranging your accommodations, transfers, luggage transport, and other services as per the agreed itinerary.

⚠️ We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance at this stage to cover any potential cancellations or issues during your trip.

Can I make changes after booking?

Yes, but change conditions depend on your package type:

Comfort & Deluxe Packages:

✅ Changes allowed (e.g. dates, itinerary sections)
❌ No changes within 14 days of departure
❌ No changes for group bookings of 5+ rooms within 30 days of departure
💶 Change fee: €40 per section, per room

Budget Packages:

❌ No changes allowed
⚠️ Cancellation fee applies

For more details, see our Terms & Conditions.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel your booking, the following charges apply:
  1. More than 60 days before departure: 30% deposit is non-refundable
  2. 15 days or more before departure: 50% of total holiday cost
  3. 14 days or less before departure: 100% of total holiday cost
For full information, please consult our Terms & Conditions.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance.
It’s optional but very useful in case you need to cancel, miss a connection, or encounter any issues along the way, including medical emergencies.
