Bike rental

Bike rental

What types of bikes do you offer?

We offer two types of bikes:
  1. Mountain bikes (MTBs)
  2. Electric mountain bikes (e-MTBs)
Most Camino routes are off-road, so these bikes provide the best safety and performance. We'll ask for your height to ensure a proper fit.

Can I bring my own bike?

Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own bike. Let us know in advance and we’ll adjust the rental cost accordingly.

What’s included with the bike rental?

Every rental includes:
  1. Breakdown insurance
  2. Repair kit
  3. Helmet (disinfected and cleaned after every use)
  4. Bike lock
  5. Rear panniers with detachable backpack
  6. Strapless pedals, bottle cage, and bell
  7. Optional: Handlebar bag (€1.75/day)

Should I choose an e-bike?

E-bikes are ideal if you want extra support, especially on hilly terrain or if you're unsure of your fitness level. Keep in mind:
  1. Slightly more expensive
  2. Battery needs to be charged each night at your accommodation

Is there support if my bike breaks down?

Yes, we provide 24/7 support through:
  1. Our bike provider’s hotline
  2. Our internal emergency contact
If needed, you'll be taken to the next garage or stage endpoint. Repairs are covered if done at a partner garage. If not, keep the receipt and we’ll reimburse you.

Where do I pick up and drop off the bike?

Your bike will be delivered directly to your first accommodation. You can view our step-by-step video to see how to assemble it. If your journey ends in Santiago, you can either drop the bike off at our provider’s shop or leave it at your final accommodation.

Where do I store the bike overnight?

We select accommodations that offer secure bike parking. We also recommend you always lock your bike.

What is the minimum bike rental period?

  1. Minimum of 4 consecutive cycling days
  2. You can walk one part and cycle another, but this must be planned and priced in advance
→ Note: Alternating between walking and biking during your trip is not possible due to logistics (min. 24h turnaround for bike prep and delivery).

Can teenagers cycle the Camino?

Absolutely! teenagers aged 16 and over can enjoy the Camino by bike, as long as they’re comfortable with long-distance cycling and are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. It’s a fantastic way to share the experience as a family! Just make sure they’re up for the challenge and used to spending several hours on a bike each day.
